Job summary

Impact Food Group (IFG) is hiring a Cook at Byrchall High School in Ashton-in-Makerfield. You will support the onsite Chef Manager and team to deliver fresh, nutritious meals for students and staff, working 7am to 2:30pm, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday during term time.

This role offers a great work-life balance with school holidays off and no evenings. IFG will train the right person and provide ongoing development opportunities, with a salary of £18,655 per annum.

• Previous kitchen or catering experience preferred (school catering bonus, not essential).
• Basic cooking skills and willingness to learn and develop.
• Positive, reliable and team-focused attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Genuine interest in preparing good, fresh food.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking a range of meals and snacks following set menus.

About the role

School Location: Byrchall High School , Ashton-in-Makerfield, WN4 9PQ

Working Days: Monday to Friday

Shifts & Working hours: 7am-2.30pm (35hours per week)

Working Weeks: 37weeks per year (term time plus inset days)

Pay Details: £18,655 per Annum

What will I be doing?
