Job summary

Impact Food Group in York is hiring a Chef/Cook to support the onsite Chef Manager in delivering high-quality, freshly prepared meals for students and staff at Vale of York secondary school (YO30 6ZS). The role runs Monday to Friday, 8.15am–2.15pm, 30 hours per week across 39 weeks per year.

You’ll work with fresh seasonal ingredients for large-scale service (200+ covers), help with counter service and till work, and keep the kitchen and dining area clean, safe and well-organised.

About the role

Job Title: Chef/ Cook

School Location: Vale of York - Secondary, Clifton, YO30 6ZS (& Local schools)

Working Days: Monday to Friday

Shifts & Working hours: 8.15am - 2.15pm (30hours per week)

Working Weeks: 39weeks per year (term time, inset days)

Pay Details: £17,440.80 per year

What will I be doing?

As a Chef, you’ll support the onsite Chef Manager in delivering high-quality, freshly prepared meals for students and staff.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the preparation of main meals and snacks
• Cooking with fresh, seasonal ingredients for high-volume service (200+ covers)
• Supporting with occasional counter service and till work
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen and dining environment at all times
