Job summary

Clayton Legal is seeking an experienced Conveyancing Assistant to join a well-established firm in Middlesbrough/Teesside, supporting fee earners across residential conveyancing matters. The role focuses on progression from instruction through to completion, with a supportive path toward fee-earning responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a residential conveyancing environment.
• Good understanding of the conveyancing process.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and client care skills.
• The ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
• A genuine interest in developing a long-term career within property law.

Responsibilities

• Support fee earners with day-to-day management of residential property transactions.
• Assist with sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers.
• Prepare and review conveyancing documentation.
• Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders and other third parties.
• Request and review searches and other relevant documentation.
• Dealing with enquiries and assisting with the progression of transactions.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case management records.
• Providing a high level of client service throughout the conveyancing process.
