Job summary

Yorkshire Pie Company is seeking a Licensed Conveyancer to step into a leadership role within its Residential Property team. You will manage a full caseload of sales, purchases and re-mortgages with minimal supervision while mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to growth.

Applicants must hold a Licensed Conveyancer qualification and have proven supervisory experience. A commercially minded, proactive approach and strong client-care skills are essential in this pivotal role.

Qualifications

• Licensed Conveyancer qualification must be maintained.
• 5+ years' PQE in residential property.
• Proven supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong mentoring and client-care skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing a full caseload of residential property matters, including sales, purchases and re-mortgages, with minimal supervision.
• Providing clear, pragmatic legal advice while delivering consistently high standards of client care.
• Supervising, mentoring and developing junior team members, including involvement in training, coaching and performance reviews.
• Achieving agreed personal and departmental billing targets.
• Ensuring matters progress efficiently, with clients kept regularly informed on timescales and costs.
• Maintaining compliance with SRA and Law Society regulations, the Solicitors Accounts Rules and all firm policies and procedures.
• Overseeing effective file management and diary control to ensure timely completions.
• Managing credit control on personal files in close collaboration with the accounts team.
• Driving business development activity and identifying growth opportunities alongside the Head of Department and senior leadership.
• Representing the department internally and externally, upholding the firm's values and professional reputation.
• Taking an active role in the strategic development of the Residential Property team and the wider firm.
• Working with partners and senior management to identify and implement process and service improvements.
• Supporting firm-wide marketing initiatives and client relationship management strategies.
• Encouraging and contributing to the ongoing development of junior colleagues through mentoring and in-house training.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Licensed Conveyancer, ideally with 5+ years' PQE, to step into a leadership role within a highly regarded and expanding law firm. This role is suited to a commercially minded and proactive professional who is keen to manage their own caseload, mentor junior colleagues and play a key part in the continued growth and success of the Residential Property department.

Requirements

• Licensed Conveyancer qualification (must be maintained)
