Job summary

Douglas Scott Ltd. is recruiting a Residential Conveyancer to manage a diverse caseload in a client‑facing role within a busy Property team. The position offers hybrid working with a supportive firm recognised for client service and professional development.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years’ PQE in residential conveyancing, strong technical knowledge, and excellent communication and organizational skills. You will build relationships with clients and referrers while handling transactions

Qualifications

• 1–3 years' PQE or equivalent experience in residential conveyancing.
• Experience handling a broad residential caseload with minimal supervision.
• Strong technical knowledge of the residential conveyancing process.
• Excellent communication and client care skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload of residential property matters from instruction to post‑completion.
• Handle freehold/leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity.
• Assist with new build transactions, shared ownership, Help to Buy, and lease extensions.
• Liaise with clients, lenders, estate agents and other solicitors throughout the transaction.

Residential Conveyancer

An established and expanding law firm is seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancer to join its busy Property team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional to manage a varied caseload while becoming part of a collaborative and supportive firm with a strong reputation for client service.

The successful candidate will enjoy working in a client-focused environment, handling transactions from instruction through to completion while building long‑term relationships with clients and professional referrers.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing your own caseload of residential property matters, including:

• Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
• Remortgages and transfers of equity
• New build transactions
• Shared ownership matters
• Help to Buy transactions
• Lease extensions
• Registered and unregistered land
• Preparing and reviewing legal documentation
• Liaising with clients, lenders, estate agents and other solicitors throughout the transaction
• Managing files from instruction through to post‑completion
• Working closely with colleagues across the wider firm where required

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Approximately 1-3 years' PQE or equivalent experience in residential conveyancing
• Experience managing a broad residential conveyancing caseload with minimal supervision
• Strong technical knowledge of the residential conveyancing process
• Excellent communication and client care skills
• The ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
• A proactive and organised approach to file management
• Experience using case management systems

An interest in networking, business development and building relationships with clients and referrers would be advantageous.
