Capital One UK is seeking a Controls Testing Lead to own and drive the UK controls testing programme from our Nottingham base. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders and the lines of defence to elevate the control environment, while leading a team of control experts in a dynamic, regulated setting.

The role focuses on ownership, strategy, and innovation in testing methodologies, including AI governance, with a hybrid working pattern in Nottingham and occasional travel as needed.

• Strong organizational skills with adaptability and pace.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the UK controls testing programme across multiple departments.
• Coach and develop the testing team; model excellence and continuous improvement.
• Simplify workloads and lead initiatives aligned to risk office and business goals.
• Tell data-driven stories to senior stakeholders to drive clear actions.
• Enhance testing methodologies by integrating industry best practices and AI governance.
• Collaborate across lines of defence and with Enterprise for cohesive risk management.
• Develop tools and training to support the AI agenda within control framework.
