Job summary

Amey Ltd. is seeking a Permanent Control Systems Technician to join the AIW/IM team in Pontypridd. The role is on-site, 40 hours per week, with responsibilities including maintenance, fault finding, and leadership when required within the Core Valley Lines project.

You will support the team leader, supervise staff competencies, and ensure safe, standards-compliant work on signalling and telecoms equipment as part of Wales' biggest transport infrastructure investment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Signalling and Telecoms - faulting, maintenance and renewal techniques.
• Experience arranging and implementing safe systems of work.
• Ability to organise and deliver safe and efficient work delivery.
• Conversant with SMS/SMTH standards and instructions.
• Hold and retain competencies relevant to track safety, Signalling and Telecoms.
• IRSE license desired; driving may be required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work safely and in accordance with SMS/SMTH procedures or other instructions.
• Undertake maintenance and renewal tasks of signalling and telecoms equipment.
• Attend failures and investigate faults to rectify.
• Control and check the quality of work and confirm compliance to standards.
• Ensure staff under your control have appropriate competencies.
• Ensure test equipment is calibrated and records are maintained.
