Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Control Systems Engineer (R&D) in Adlington, Cheshire. The role is site-based with one day of home working per week after probation and involves developing PLC, HMI and servo motion control software for bespoke machinery.

You will produce electrical schematics and documentation, lead projects from concept to commissioning, and travel UK/internationally to support commissioning and training. An electrical degree is essential.

Qualifications

Manufacturing background and strong electrical knowledge.
Excellent Siemens PLC programming experience.
Experience with multi-axis servo motion control and HMI development.
Ideally experience in an in-house machinery design and build environment.
Exposure to Mitsubishi control systems is advantageous.
Understanding of machinery safety and functional safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Develop PLC, HMI, multi-axis servo motion control and safety software for bespoke machinery.
Produce electrical schematics and supporting technical documentation.
Deliver projects through design, programming, testing, commissioning and training.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers, suppliers and customers to improve control systems.
Carry out fault-finding, upgrades and remote technical support.
Investigate and integrate new technologies into machinery designs.
