Job summary

AWD online is seeking a Control Systems Engineer / PLC Programmer to design, implement and support high-performance control systems across the UK and Europe. The role involves PLC programming, HMI/SCADA work and project collaboration on varied automation projects.

The position offers UK travel to on-site locations, with a salary range of £55,000–£70,000 depending on experience, plus overtime and benefits. Based in Stoke-on-Trent or nearby sites.

Qualifications

• Higher education qualification in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in industrial automation and PLC programming with major platforms.
• Proficiency with HMI/SCADA software such as Wonderware or FactoryTalk View.
• Knowledge of Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus or equivalent networks.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support control systems for electrical applications.
• Develop and maintain PLC solutions on Allen-Bradley, Schneider or Siemens platforms.
• Create and enhance HMI/SCADA solutions using relevant tools.
• Collaborate with project teams to deliver on time and within budget.
• Provide on-site support across the UK as required.
