Job summary

Caterpillar Marine Power UK Ltd in Wimborne seeks a Control Systems Engineer to design and optimize electro-mechanical control systems for marine propulsion and auxiliary engines. You will integrate electrical and mechanical subsystems and prototype mechatronic devices to improve performance and reliability.

The role requires a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science and hands-on experience with embedded systems, software development, and product testing.

Qualifications

• Designs, develops, and enhances electro-mechanical systems and mechatronic devices.
• Designs and prototypes advanced electrical control systems.
• Knowledge of embedded systems and their applications.
• Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of product testing approaches and tools.

Responsibilities

• Designing advanced electrical control systems and integrating electrical and mechanical systems.
• Designing and implementing software and procedures to control and enhance electro-mechanical systems and mechatronic devices performance in collaboration with scientists.
• Designing and prototyping mechatronic devices with motors, solenoids, gears, sensors, and springs.
• Identify and address areas of product weakness in finished products.
• Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
