Job summary

Caterpillar Marine Power UK Ltd seeks a Control Systems Engineer to design and improve electro-mechanical control systems for marine propulsion products. You will develop software and procedures to control complex mechatronic devices, and you will prototype systems with motors, sensors and gears in collaboration with engineers and scientists.

The role requires a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science and will involve product testing and troubleshooting to ensure top

Qualifications

  • Analytical thinking and problem solving to determine root causes and craft solutions.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and how they apply to control hardware.
  • Troubleshooting approaches for hardware, software, and systems issues.
  • Understanding of product testing to ensure quality at manufacturing stages.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design advanced electrical control systems integrating electrical and mechanical components.
  • Develop software/procedures to control electro-mechanical systems and mechatronic devices.
  • Prototype mechatronic devices with motors, sensors, and actuators.
  • Identify weaknesses in finished products and address them.
  • Requires a degree in Engineering, CS or Materials Science.
