Job summary

Veolia in Ellesmere Port is seeking a control operator to help maintain the waste supply to our high temperature incineration plant. You will handle drum-fed waste, shredding, and pumping tasks as part of a busy Day Team.

The role requires basic HSE knowledge, forklift experience, and willingness to progress through operator levels. We offer training, a strong benefits package, and a supportive, inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

• Experience in process industries or plant operation.
• Basic knowledge of HSE rules and chemical handling.
• Forklift experience.
• Familiarity with incineration processes.
• Basic firefighting techniques with SCBA.
• Willingness to progress through shift levels.

Responsibilities

• Maintain solid/liquid waste supply to the incineration plant.
• Assist Day Team with waste handling and tanker offloading.
• Make up liquid waste blends and transfer liquids.
• Provide plant performance updates to internal customers.
• Ensure slag/ash discharge safely into skips.
• Be part of the shift first responder in emergencies.
