Job summary

Cabot Corporation is seeking a Control and Instrumentation Engineer based in Barry, South Wales. This role involves overseeing all onsite OT and IT systems to ensure safe and compliant operations. You will serve as the subject matter expert, lead various safety and performance initiatives, and collaborate with both site and corporate teams.

Qualified candidates will have advanced knowledge of DCS, PLC systems, and relevant qualifications, including a BSc in Chemical Engineering. Benefits include a contributory pension, performance bonuses, and private medical insurance.

Qualifications

• Advanced experience in DCS, PLC, and data historian hardware.
• Experienced in DeltaV virtualised systems including Hyper-V.
• Detailed knowledge of manufacturing control and reporting systems.
• Experience working in a chemical manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

• Act as the site subject matter expert for all onsite OT and IT systems.
• Support local IT equipment users and act as an interface with the service centre.
• Ensure compliance with legal and corporate standards.
• Provide leadership for the implementation of safety systems.
• Manage site IT/OT infrastructure and support performance monitoring.

Skills

Advanced knowledge of DCS, PLC, and data historian hardware

Experience with DeltaV virtualised systems

Knowledge of ladder logic

Ability to interrogate relevant data stored in site systems

Applied knowledge of cybersecurity protocols

Experience using problem‑solving techniques

Advanced knowledge of office IT hardware and software

Fluent in English
