About Us:

Psychiatry UK is the UK’s leading provider of digital psychiatry services, working both privately and with the NHS to support children, teenagers and adults with expert, patient-centred care.

A career with Psychiatry UK allows you to expand your knowledge, enhance your skills, and gain valuable life experience—all while enjoying the flexibility of a remote full-time role. As part of a leading online mental health service, you'll collaborate with innovative, forward-thinking professionals in a dynamic, multidisciplinary team committed to making a real difference.

The Contracts Manager will play a pivotal role in the development and management of strategic commissioning and contracting initiatives across both public and private sectors. This role is key to promoting Psychiatry-UK’s services, expanding its market presence, and enhancing stakeholder understanding of the organisation’s current capabilities and future potential in the psychiatric care landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

The Contract Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of contracts, ensuring:

  • Effective and efficient contract management practices are in place
  • Full compliance with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks
  • Systematic recording, reporting, and dissemination of insights to drive continuous business improvement
  • Expert advice and guidance on non-contractual activities, particularly in relation to the Right to Choose programme

This is a home-based role (applicants must reside in the UK), though occasional travel may be required for face-to-face meetings at various locations within the UK.

As our Contracts Manager, you will:

  • Lead the development and management of key commissioning and contracting activities across both public and private sectors.
  • Ensure contracts are accurate and compliant with NHS contracting guidance and procurement regulations.
  • Manage contract delivery in collaboration with internal teams and external partners by:
  • Leading effective and regular contract review meetings
  • Overseeing the monitoring and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Managing the execution, variation, performance, and closure of contracts
  • Collaborate with Psychiatry-UK (PUK) teams to ensure delivery against KPIs and commissioned service specifications.
  • Share insights and lessons learned to support the ongoing development of PUK’s service offerings.
  • Support the preparation and submission of high-quality tenders for new business opportunities.
  • Work with the Information Governance team to ensure Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) are accurate and up to date.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure financial alignment across contracts, recommending improvements to maximise value for money throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with commissioners, other purchasers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Engage across multi-functional teams to integrate diverse perspectives, fostering collaboration and shared understanding of performance and service delivery.

To succeed as our Contracts Manager, you will be:

Self-motivated and able to manage your workload independently, demonstrating excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills. You will be an effective communicator, both written and verbal, and capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels inside and outside Psychiatry-UK. With a strong eye for detail, you will always maintain confidentiality and integrity.

The role requires someone who can work well under pressure, think innovatively, solve problems with a strategic mindset, and negotiate effectively. You must also be comfortable analysing and presenting complex information in both written and oral formats.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Degree-level education or equivalent, or a professional qualification in contract management, procurement, or strategic commissioning
  • In-depth knowledge of NHS contracts and associated regulations, including recent updates in procurement legislation
  • Proven experience managing bids, tenders, and contracts in the healthcare sector, ideally with experience in NHS-funded private provision
  • Demonstrated success in contract management, with the ability to understand the needs and perspectives of both commissioners and providers
  • Proficiency in using online contract management and/or procurement systems
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Post Graduate Professional qualification (or equivalent) in contract management, procurement, business administration or strategic commissioning
  • Interest and/or experience in Neurodiversity and in Mental Health online services delivery to improve people’s lives
  • An understanding of the changes in commissioning landscape and the political nature of the wider NHS and Social Care system
  • Proven experience of working in partnership, using the contract to successfully improve services
  • Experience using Sharepoint
  • Understanding of CQC standards
