The role is home based and can be based in Birmingham or Glasgow, with a requirement to travel to Project Sites and Client Offices in the UK depending on specific project needs.
Hitachi Energy is seeking a Contract Manager to support Grid Integration (PGGI) in the United Kingdom. With an analytical, hands-on, and autonomous approach, you will contribute to the successful performance of Contract Management in the project(s) you are assigned to. You will be responsible for preparing contracts/subcontracts, contract administration, and project execution, ensuring contract and risk management activities are executed timely and accurately to protect Hitachi Energy's interests throughout the project lifecycle.

How you'll make an impact
Provide guidance and leadership on contract matters to cross-functional teams. Ensure team members understand their responsibilities to foster a collaborative approach to Contract Management.
Develop contract strategies based on Hitachi Energy's policies, customer requirements, and project execution strategies, considering risk, pricing, scope, and schedule.
Identify the contract baseline, including terms and conditions, specifications, drawings, estimates, proposals, schedules, and other documents, highlighting opportunities and risks.
Ensure timely and accurate execution of contractual aspects such as payments, claims, variation orders, warranties, provisions, and guarantees.
Verify that all contractual obligations are fulfilled by all parties involved.
Collaborate with Hitachi Energy's Legal team to develop negotiation strategies and support negotiations.
Support the Legal team in handling dispute resolution, litigation, and arbitration proceedings.
Work with Legal to draft, negotiate, and finalize agreements during sales and project execution phases.
Background
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, Economics, or Law. Proven experience in EPC power generation, substations, converter stations, grid integration, transmission, or similar industrial plants in Contract Management.
Extensive experience in administering standard form contracts, contract drafting, and supporting supply chain management, including flow-down of terms for subcontract formation.
Experience in change management, claim management, and legal issues related to contracts, with knowledge of contracts under common law jurisdictions.
Ability to interface effectively with customers and subcontractors on contract and project matters, including change reviews and processing.
