Contract Senior IT Support Engineer - Microsoft 365, Leeds, West Yorkshire

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior IT Support Engineer to join our team for an initial period of 6 months. In this role, you'll work closely with our 1st and 2nd line support team, providing advanced technical assistance to clients, mentoring team members, and delivering high-quality project solutions for both new and existing clients.

The Role:

As our Senior IT Support Engineer, you’ll be the go-to expert for resolving complex technical issues, ensuring security and compliance, and driving client success. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Maintaining and enhancing security standards across client infrastructure and tenancies, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.
  2. Participating in weekly meetings with client SOC leads to discuss security incidents, implement changes, and ensure alignment.
  3. Leading and mentoring 1st and 2nd line support engineers, providing escalation support, training, and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
  4. Performing routine maintenance, system updates, and preventive measures to ensure secure and reliable client systems.
  5. Addressing complex technical issues across diverse technologies, escalating when needed.
  6. Staying informed about Microsoft changes, assessing impacts on client infrastructure, and implementing necessary adaptations.
  7. Planning and delivering technical solutions for new and existing clients, ensuring smooth implementation and minimal disruption.
What We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking a professional with a proven track record in IT support and a passion for delivering outstanding client service. Key skills and experience include:

  1. Advanced knowledge of cloud services (Azure, Microsoft 365) and on-premises infrastructure, with experience providing 3rd line support for end-user devices, servers, and cloud solutions.
  2. Exceptional troubleshooting skills to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.
  3. Hands-on experience deploying and managing Azure and Microsoft 365 services.
  4. Familiarity with ITIL processes, including issue resolution, problem management, and change management.
  5. Experience working with Sentinel for incident investigation and resolution.
  6. Proficiency with Intune for managing end-user devices.
  7. Ability to deliver excellent customer service and communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
  8. Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
  9. A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies.
  10. Experience with the Power Platform.
  11. Knowledge of VMware or Citrix.
  12. Familiarity with Active Directory and Group Policy.
  13. PowerShell scripting experience.
  14. Experience with Terraform.
  15. Microsoft certification.
