Job summary

Veolia in Dunfermline is seeking an experienced Capital Projects Lead to plan and deliver a portfolio of infrastructure projects. You will ensure safety, on-time delivery, and value for money while managing a small team of Project Engineers across multiple sites.

You will develop the capital programme, price scopes, and mobilise new work, reporting progress to senior stakeholders and maintaining strict governance and compliance with health, safety, and CDM regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing multiple capital or engineering projects end to end.
• Strong PM skills including planning, budgeting, risk, reporting and governance.
• Experience leading and developing a small project delivery team.
• Solid knowledge of health, safety and CDM regulations.
• Excellent stakeholder management with clients, operations and suppliers.
• Commercial experience in scoping, pricing, and contracts; UK security clearance a plus.

Responsibilities

What you'll be doing:

• Lead the planning and delivery of a portfolio of capital projects, ensuring delivery is safe, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Develop and deliver the capital programme, including identifying opportunities, defining and pricing scopes, preparing proposals and mobilising new work.
• Manage and develop a small team of Project Engineers delivering studies, asset improvements, capital maintenance and asset-delivery projects across multiple sites.
• Manage project budgets, risks, schedules, contractors, suppliers and project records, ensuring effective controls and governance throughout delivery.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental and CDM requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build strong relationships with clients, site operators and other stakeholders; provide clear reporting on programme progress, finances and risks, and develop business cases for high-value projects.

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience managing multiple capital, infrastructure or engineering projects from scope development through to completion.
• Strong project management expertise, including planning, budgeting, risk management, reporting, governance and contractor management.
• Experience leading, motivating and developing a small project delivery team.
• Strong working knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements, including CDM regulations.
• Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills, with experience working with clients, operational teams, suppliers and senior leaders.
• Commercial experience, including developing scopes and proposals, pricing work and managing contractual or supplier requirements. Eligibility for UK security clearance is essential; experience of working on secure or regulated operational sites would be advantageous.
