Job summary

Veolia in Dunfermline seeks a seasoned Project Engineer/Manager to lead a portfolio of capital projects, ensuring safety, delivery on time and within budget. You’ll build a capable team of Project Engineers, manage budgets and stakeholders, and drive governance across sites.

Across the role you’ll ensure CDM and HSE compliance, develop compelling business cases, and report progress to clients and senior leaders. Veolia offers a pension, wellbeing resources and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing multiple capital, infrastructure or engineering projects from scope development through to completion.
• Strong project management expertise, including planning, budgeting, risk management, reporting, governance.
• Experience leading, motivating and developing a small project delivery team.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements, including CDM regulations.
• Excellent stakeholder-management and communication with clients, operations, suppliers and senior leaders.
• Commercial experience: developing scopes and proposals, pricing work and managing contractual or supplier requirements; UK security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the capital programme, identify opportunities, price scopes, prepare proposals and mobilise new work.
• Manage and develop a small team of Project Engineers across multiple sites.
• Manage budgets, risks, schedules, contractors, suppliers and records with governance throughout delivery.
• Ensure CDM, health and safety compliance across the project lifecycle.
• Build relationships with clients and stakeholders; report progress, finances and risks; develop business cases for high-value projects.

Salary: 55-58k + Car Allowance + Annual Bonus

What you'll be doing:

• Lead the planning and delivery of a portfolio of capital projects, ensuring delivery is safe, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Develop and deliver the capital programme, including identifying opportunities, defining and pricing scopes, preparing proposals and mobilising new work.
• Manage and develop a small team of Project Engineers delivering studies, asset improvements, capital maintenance and asset-delivery projects across multiple sites.
• Manage project budgets, risks, schedules, contractors, suppliers and project records, ensuring effective controls and governance throughout delivery.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental and CDM requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build strong relationships with clients, site operators and other stakeholders; provide clear reporting on programme progress, finances and risks, and develop business cases for high-value projects.

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience managing multiple capital, infrastructure or engineering projects from scope development through to completion.

• Strong working knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements, including CDM regulations.
• Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills, with experience working with clients, operational teams, suppliers and senior leaders.
• Commercial experience, including developing scopes and proposals, pricing work and managing contractual or supplier requirements. Eligibility for UK security clearance is essential; experience of working on secure or regulated operational sites would be advantageous.
