Job summary

Veolia ES (UK) is seeking a Project Engineer/Delivery Lead to drive a portfolio of capital projects across multiple sites in Dunfermline. You will ensure delivery is safe, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards, while developing proposals and mobilising new work.

You will manage a small team of Project Engineers, handle budgets and risks, and maintain rigorous governance. Strong stakeholder management and CDM compliance are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering capital, infrastructure or engineering projects.
• Strong planning, budgeting, risk management and governance skills.
• Experience leading a small delivery team with client and contractor interaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and delivery of a portfolio of capital projects, ensuring safety, timeliness, budget and quality.
• Develop and deliver the capital programme, price scopes and mobilise new work.
• Manage and develop a small team of Project Engineers across multiple sites.
• Control budgets, risks, schedules, contractors and project records with governance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and CDM requirements.
• Build relationships with clients and stakeholders, reporting progress and finances.

What you’ll be doing:

• Lead the planning and delivery of a portfolio of capital projects, ensuring delivery is safe, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Develop and deliver the capital programme, including identifying opportunities, defining and pricing scopes, preparing proposals and mobilising new work.
• Manage and develop a small team of Project Engineers delivering studies, asset improvements, capital maintenance and asset-delivery projects across multiple sites.
• Manage project budgets, risks, schedules, contractors, suppliers and project records, ensuring effective controls and governance throughout delivery.
• Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental and CDM requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build strong relationships with clients, site operators and other stakeholders; provide clear reporting on programme progress, finances and risks and develop business cases for high‑value projects.

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience managing multiple capital, infrastructure or engineering projects from scope development through to completion.
• Strong project management expertise, including planning, budgeting, risk management, reporting, governance and contractor management.
• Experience leading, motivating and developing a small project delivery team.
• Strong working knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements, including CDM regulations.
• Excellent stakeholder‑management and communication skills, with experience working with clients, operational teams, suppliers and senior leaders.
• Commercial experience, including developing scopes and proposals, pricing work and managing contractual or supplier requirements. Eligibility for UK security clearance is essential; experience of working on secure or regulated operational sites would be advantageous.
