Job summary

Staffline is recruiting for a fast-paced manufacturer and logistics handler in the Pontefract/Ferrybridge area for a night-shift Contract Maintenance Engineer role. The position covers 10pm–6am, Sunday to Thursday, with strong electrical or mechanical multi-skilling requirements.

The role focuses on servicing, adjusting and repairing process and production machinery, plus planned preventative maintenance and PLC/automation tasks where applicable. Overtime is available to meet peak demand.

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent manufacturing/automation background.
• Or equivalent in electrical or mechanical fields, preferably with manufacturing experience.
• Competent electrical or mechanical engineer with technical experience.
• Should be able to solve problems; PLC/automation experience preferred; produce safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• To service, adjust and repair process and production machinery using the necessary tools safely.
• To examine machinery and report on condition, performance and action plans for improvements.
• Carry out planned and preventative maintenance to agreed schedules.

Pay Range: £40 - £42 per hour open to experience and expectations

Key Responsibilities – Contract Maintenance Engineer - Nights

• To service adjust and repair process and production materials handling machinery and equipment using the necessary tools in a safe and proper manner
• To examine machinery and equipment and report on condition, performance, and plan of action for improvements
• Carry out Planned and preventative maintenance to agreed schedules

There is a potential of overtime and again flexibility will be required to support this when needed

Qualifications & Requirements – Contract Maintenance Engineer - Nights

• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrical or mechanical engineering or similar manufacturing or automation
• Or equivalent of any of the above in electrical or mechanical fields preferably with a manufacturing background
• A competent electrical or mechanical engineering professional with technical experience
• Must be able to solve problems, PLC / automation experience ideally produce safe systems of work
• Should be capable of contributing to the development, manufacture, commissioning, decommissioning, operation or maintenance of products, equipment, process or service
• This is an all-round hands‑on maintenance electrical role ias well as conveyors and processing
• Extensive planned maintenance tasks and organisation of the engineering plant is also essential

Candidates who are currently a Contract Electrical Engineer, Contract Electrical Shift Engineer, mechanical maintenance engineer, Contract Multi Skilled Shift Engineer, Electrical Maintenance, Maintenance Engineer, Multi Skilled Engineer, machine tool maintenance , Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Shift Engineer, Fitter, Plant Engineer, Electrician and Electrical Engineer and any equivalent background will be suitable for the role.
