Omega Resource Group is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer for a temporary night shift on a large, automated heavy manufacturing site near Teesside. The role offers 12-hour nights (6-6), about 60 hours per week, with no weekends and Inside IR35, rate £40–£42 per hour.

You will maintain PLC-controlled equipment across conveyors, handling systems and production machinery, driving reliability improvements and supporting shutdowns and maintenance activities.

Formación

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent electrical apprenticeship is required.
• Experience with motors, drives, inverters and control systems.
• PLC fault-finding experience is preferred.
• Experience in heavy manufacturing environments is beneficial.
• Apprentice-trained electrical engineer is desirable.
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills are essential.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across manufacturing plant and equipment.
• Diagnose faults on motors, drives, sensors, control systems and automated machinery.
• Support conveyors, hydraulic systems and material handling equipment.
• Minimise downtime through fault finding and repair.
• Assist with plant improvement and reliability projects.
• Support shut-down and maintenance activities.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with engineering standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

Omega is recruiting for an experienced Contract , temporary Electrical Maintenance Engineers to support a large, highly automated heavy manufacturing operation. Process includes batching, mixing, moulding, conveying and automated product handling processes. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-invested site operating complex industrial plant including conveyors, motors, drives, hydraulic systems, automated handling equipment, batching systems, process plant and PLC-controlled machinery. ideally starting 2nd or 9th November.

Job Role – Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Temporary Nights Contract 12 hour Night shift

Working alongside an established engineering team, you'll play a key role in maintaining plant reliability, reducing downtime and supporting ongoing improvement projects across a busy production environment.

You’ll be working across a heavy industrial manufacturing operation featuring:

• Automated batching and mixing plant
• Conveyors and material handling systems
• Hydraulic presses and production machinery
• Motors, gearboxes and drive systems
• PLC-controlled process equipment
• Automated transfer and handling systems
• Palletising and end-of-line equipment
• Dust extraction and site utilities
• Heavy process and manufacturing plant

What We’re Looking For - Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Temporary Contract

• Strong electrical fault-finding capability
• Experience with motors, drives, inverters and control systems
• PLC fault-finding experience preferred, it’s an automated plant
• Familiarity with conveyors, automated handling equipment and process plant
• Ability to work safely within a busy manufacturing environment
• Reactive breakdown and preventative maintenance experience
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• NVQ level 3 or apprenticeship electrical equivalent
• Apprentice-trained Electrical Engineer or NVQ Level 3 equivalent
• Previous experience within manufacturing, process, industrial or heavy engineering environments
• Electrical fault-finding experience on production plant
• Good understanding of motors, drives, sensors and automation systems
• PLC fault-finding experience advantageous
