Job summary

Gap Technical Ltd is representing a market-leading manufacturing business in Wrexham seeking an experienced Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias. The role covers contract maintenance services across shifts, with an hourly rate of £35 outside IR35.

You will provide breakdown support, execute planned maintenance, diagnose faults, and drive improvements to equipment reliability and uptime. The position requires independent work with minimal direction, strong communication with

Qualifications

• Experience in FMCG manufacturing environments.
• Electrical fault diagnosis using drawings and equipment history.
• Ability to identify and implement permanent corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Provision of responsive breakdown support to minimise production disruption
• Execution of planned and preventative maintenance activities as agreed with site engineering leadership
• Electrical fault diagnosis using drawings, diagnostics, and equipment history
• Identification and rectification of recurring equipment faults, including implementation of permanent corrective actions
• Maintenance and optimisation of automated food production and packaging machinery
• Support for continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and uptime
• Collaboration with production and engineering teams to ensure safe and efficient plant operation
• Assistance with machinery modifications, upgrades, and repair works as required
• All services delivered in compliance with site health, safety, and food hygiene standards

6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm / 10pm - 6am

gap technical are representing a market-leading manufacturing business seeking an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical bias to provide contract maintenance engineering services at their Manufacturing site in Wrexham

Key Service Deliverables

• Provision of responsive breakdown support to minimise production disruption


• Execution of planned and preventative maintenance activities as agreed with site engineering leadership


• Electrical fault diagnosis using drawings, diagnostics, and equipment history


• Identification and rectification of recurring equipment faults, including implementation of permanent corrective actions

Contractor Profile

• Time-served engineer or demonstrable equivalent industry experience


• Multi Skilled Engineer with proven capability in FMCG manufacturing environments


• Previous experience providing services as a maintenance engineering contractor


• Able to work with minimal direction, managing workload and priorities independently


• Strong communication skills when liaising with site stakeholders
