Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled Business Systems Developer for a 5-month contract with a Local Authority in Swindon. You will design, develop, configure, and maintain essential IT systems and digital solutions, turning business and legal requirements into technical solutions.

This role focuses on application lifecycle management, security, and efficiency to support digital transformation within the Council.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in business systems analysis, design, development, and configuration.
Proven track record delivering technical solutions in complex organizations.
Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation and change control artifacts.
Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Analyze business needs and convert them into technical specifications and system solutions.
Design, develop, configure, and implement improvements to business systems and digital solutions.
Oversee system development projects and configuration changes, ensuring timelines and scope are met.
Work with software suppliers, stakeholders, and internal teams to enhance systems.
Develop and maintain system integrations, interfaces, reports, and outputs.
Keep technical documentation and development records current.
Support application lifecycle management including upgrades, patches, and new releases.
