Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited in Northampton is seeking a Building Inspector on a 3-month contract to deliver a professional Building Control service. You will conduct site inspections, assess applications, and ensure compliance with Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act.

Candidate must be registered with the Building Safety Regulator at Class 2A or working toward 2B/2C, with experience in building control and strong communication skills for liaising with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Registered Building Inspector with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) Class 2A or higher.
• Progress toward Class 2B and/or 2C encouraged.
• Experience in Building Control Surveying or related services.
• Knowledge of Building Act 1984, Regulations, and Building Safety Act 2022.

Responsibilities

• Undertake site inspections to ensure compliance with Building Regulations.
• Assess and manage building regulation applications and plans.
• Provide professional recommendations and maintain records.
• Advise developers, architects, builders, and the public.
• Assist enforcement and, where required, evidence in court proceedings.
• Keep managers informed on progress and regulatory concerns.
