Job summary

Bike Club in Rainham, London, seeks a Continuous Improvement Manager to drive lean upgrades across warehouse, refurbishment and fulfilment. This hands-on role places you on the floor to reduce waste, improve throughput and scale a circular bike operation as we expand across Europe.

Ideal candidates blend analytical problem-solving with strong collaboration and a bias to action, capable of guiding kaizen and value-stream work from intake to delivery.

Qualifications

  • Gemba mindset and hands-on warehouse floor presence.
  • Structured, analytical problem solving with data to decide.
  • Strong communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Pragmatic, organised and action-biased in a fast-moving scale-up.
  • Relevant degree in industrial engineering, logistics, or similar.
  • Exposure to operations via internships or early-career roles.
  • Interest in lean / continuous improvement; Lean Six Sigma bonus.
  • Comfort with systems (WMS/ERP/Salesforce); SQL/BI a plus.
  • Fluent English; German a strong plus.
  • Interest or experience in circular economy and refurbishment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the continuous improvement roadmap across intake, refurbishment, dispatch, and returns — set priorities, run the program, and report progress to leadership
  • Map value streams end-to-end and identify bottlenecks, waste, and rework
  • Run kaizen workshops, A3 problem-solving, and root-cause analyses with teams
  • Define, track, and improve KPIs (cycle time, throughput, on-time dispatch, returns)
  • Roll out standard work, 5S, visual management, and pull-based flow
  • Spend significant time on the floor observing, coaching, and validating improvements
  • Lead capacity and layout planning as we scale: workstation design and flow
  • Collaborate with last-mile providers to reduce delays and returns leakage
  • Build data/reporting backbone to manage operations by fact (Excel, WMS, BI tools)
  • Coach team leads in lean thinking and build improvement capability
