Job summary

The Bike Club is seeking an ambitious Lean Operations Manager to drive continuous improvement across our Rainham warehouse, refurbishment, and fulfilment operations. This hands-on, gemba-first role offers scope to evolve a broad operation with real impact on throughput and quality.

You’ll partner with warehouse leads, mechanics, customer service and logistics providers to remove waste, improve cycle times, and scale circular operations across Europe.

Qualifications

• Gemba mindset and prioritising floor presence to observe and improve operations.
• Structured, analytical problem-solving using data to identify root causes.
• Experience with lean, continuous improvement methodologies and kaizen.
• Strong communication and collaboration with mechanics, operators and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement across intake, refurbishment, dispatch, and returns.
• Map value streams, identify bottlenecks, waste and rework.
• Lead kaizen workshops and root-cause analyses.
• Define and monitor KPIs (cycle time, throughput, OEE).
• Roll out standard work, 5S, visual management and pull-based flow.
• Spend significant time on the floor coaching teams.
• Lead capacity and layout planning as we scale.
• Partner with last-mile providers to reduce delays and returns leakage.
• Build data/reporting backbone using Excel, WMS, Salesforce, BI tools.
• Coach team leads in lean thinking.
