Job summary

CBS Butler is seeking an experienced Content Designer to support the Government Gateway programme in a hybrid Telford role. The incumbent will translate complex policy into user‑friendly digital content, informed by user research and analytics, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver clear outcomes.

The role requires SC clearance and involves working with policy teams and multidisciplinary delivery squads in an Agile environment to continually refine content.

Qualifications

• Experience in content design/UX content across the content lifecycle.
• Ability to translate policy/technical information into accessible language.
• Experience with content management and information architecture.
• Experience with user research, usability testing and Agile delivery.

Responsibilities

• Create and edit clear, accessible online content from complex policy and technical information.
• Put user needs at the heart of content decisions, using user research, analytics and usability testing.
• Work closely with User Researchers, Interaction Designers, Product Managers and multidisciplinary delivery teams.
• Engage with policy teams and subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate, consistent and fit for purpose.
• Contribute to content management and content architecture.
• Use evidence and insight to inform design decisions.
• Work iteratively within an Agile environment, continually testing and improving content.

Job title: Content Designer - Government Gateway

Rate: £430 per day

Contract: 6-months rolling

Location: Telford/Hybrid
SC security clearance is required for this role

We're looking for an experienced Content Designer to support the Government Gateway programme, working across key areas including SCP, EACD/RATE and the Fraud Prevention Centre. This is a great opportunity for a Content Designer who can take complex policy, processes and "government-speak" and turn it into clear, accessible and genuinely user-focused digital content.

Responsibilities:

• Create and edit clear, accessible online content from complex policy and technical information
• Put user needs at the heart of content decisions, using user research, analytics and usability testing
• Work closely with User Researchers, Interaction Designers, Product Managers and multidisciplinary delivery teams
