Job summary

CYGNET is seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to lead care at Delfryn Lodge and Rhyd Alyn in Wales. You will supervise medical care for women in high-support inpatient rehab, drive audits, risk management and clinical governance, and contribute to CPD and academic meetings.

You will be the Responsible Clinician, oversee MDT treatment plans, and liaise with hospital leadership to maintain quality and patient safety while progressing to Medical Director level through internal schemes.

Qualifications

  • Fully GMC registered & MBBS (or equivalent)
  • Registered on the specialist register (CCT/CESR), Section 12 and AC Status
  • Experienced & knowledgeable in General Adult / Rehabilitation Psychiatry
  • Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • A first-rate communicator who can interview, assess & treat patients & write clear notes
  • Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Lead on high quality care to Delfryn Lodge and Rhyd Alyn service users
  • Act as a positive role model for patients and staff
  • Oversee patient treatment plans with the MDT
  • Assess referrals & conduct mental state examinations
  • Conduct ward rounds, reviews & clinical audits
  • Lead risk assessment and clinical governance
  • Supervise MH Act tribunal reports & hearings
  • Liaise with Site Medical Director and Hospital Manager
  • Attend academic meetings and CPD activities
  • Contribute to the on-call rota

This dual-level rehabilitation model ensures that women receive the support they need while developing independence at their own pace.Rhyd Alyn is a six bed community rehabilitation (level 1) service for women who have been able to progress through the hospital pathway at Cygnet Delfryn Lodge.
