Job summary

ProMedical Personnel Ltd is assisting an NHS Trust in the North West England to appoint a Locum Consultant Ophthalmologist (Glaucoma). The role involves a Monday–Friday pattern, with consultant-level responsibility and a focus on glaucoma care across an established ophthalmology service.

The successful candidate will provide specialist clinical decisions, support colleagues, and contribute to governance, audits and service improvements within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• GMC registration with licence to practise is required.
• Entry on GMC Specialist Register in Ophthalmology or equivalent NHS locum experience.
• Experience as an NHS Consultant in Ophthalmology with glaucoma focus.

Responsibilities

• Provide Consultant-level ophthalmology care with glaucoma focus.
• Undertake glaucoma clinics and assessments and manage patients.
• Contribute to governance, audits and service improvement.
• Support junior medical staff and work within a multidisciplinary team.
