Job summary

NHSGGC in Glasgow is seeking a Locum Consultant Ophthalmologist with a subspecialty in Glaucoma. This is a fixed-term post available from September 2026.

The appointment involves clinical sessions across multiple hospital sites, including Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Gartnavel General Hospital and Stobhill Hospital. The post is 10 Programmed Activities per week, with Direct Clinical Care, SPA and administrative sessions.

Qualifications

• Applicants must hold full GMC Registration with a license to practise.
• Evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT preferred for UK trained applicants.
• CESR route doctors are eligible to apply for substantive posts after CESR is awarded.

Responsibilities

• Clinical sessions across multiple hospital sites (Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Gartnavel General Hospital, Stobhill Hospital).
• Lead glaucoma care, contribute to service development and teaching.
• Participate in CPD, audit and governance activities.
