Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde invites applications for a Locum Consultant Ophthalmologist with a subspecialty interest in Glaucoma. The post is a fixed-term position available from September 2026 and will involve clinical sessions across Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Gartnavel General Hospital and Stobhill Hospital as part of a 10 PA post.

Applicants must hold GMC Registration with a license to practise and be eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register.

Qualifications

• Must hold GMC Registration with license to practise.
• Eligible for inclusion in GMC Specialist Register (CCT) or CESR pathway.
• Evidence of leadership skills and service development desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver glaucoma care across hospital sites within NHSGGC.
• Lead clinics, teaching, and supervision of trainees.
• Contribute to service development and governance.
