Job summary

Optegra Eye Healthcare seeks a Staff Grade Doctor to join our Bradford Eye Hospital bank team, supporting the NHS glaucoma service with clinical and surgical assistance, providing compassionate patient care.

The candidate will hold a medical degree, GMC registration, and strong glaucoma management skills, capable of independent work within a collaborative ophthalmology team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Medical degree from a recognized university.
• Valid GMC registration with a license to practice in UK.
• Experience in ophthalmology, particularly glaucoma management and ability to work independently.
• UK NHS Glaucoma clinic experience.
• Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, evaluate and manage patients with glaucoma and other ocular conditions.
• Perform diagnostic tests and procedures (visual fields, OCT, Volk, CCT, gonioscopy).
• Provide management plans for glaucoma referrals.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care.
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists, optometrists and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to service development initiatives.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Educate patients and families about glaucoma management and treatment options.
