Job summary

Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesia to join its expanding team in a modern 16-bed ICU with expansion plans. The role balances Intensive Care and Theatres, with opportunities to develop specialist interests and contribute to teaching, research and service development.

Qualifications

• GMC registration or eligibility to apply.
• FRCA or equivalent certification.
• FFICM/EDIC qualification.
• CCT/CESR in Intensive Care Medicine (or within 6 months of interview).
• CCT/CESR in Anaesthesia (or within 6 months of interview).
• All-round general and regional anaesthesia experience.
• ALS certification in good standing.
• Higher/academic qualification preferred.
• Membership of ICS/FICM or equivalent.
• Instructors for Advanced Life Support courses.

Responsibilities

• Provide daytime consultant cover in Intensive Care, lead ward rounds.
• Supervise resident doctors and support management of complex cases.
• Undertake general anaesthesia across a broad range of specialties.
• Participate in the 1:10 ICU on-call rota with outreach support.
• Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, governance and audit.
• Support critical care and peri-operative service development and digital transformation.
