Job summary

Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Kettering seeks a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesia to join a growing team in a modern 16-bed ICU with expansion to 20 beds. The role combines critical care leadership with anaesthesia across a broad surgical remit.

You will lead daytime ICU rounds, supervise trainees, participate in on-call rota, and contribute to teaching, research and service development while advancing digital transformation and the HIP2 hospital project.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration, or eligible to apply.
• FRCA or equivalent.
• FFICM/EDIC.
• CCT or CESR in Intensive Care Medicine (within 6 months of interview).
• CCT or CESR in Anaesthesia (within 6 months of interview).
• Experience in general and regional anaesthesia, obstetrics and paediatrics.
• Current ALS certification.
• Higher/academic qualification.
• ALS/ATLS/APLS/EPLS/ATACC certifications.
• Instructor in Advanced Life Support courses.
• Membership of the ICS/FICM.

Responsibilities

• Lead daytime ICU cover, supervise multidisciplinary ward rounds and residents.
• Provide general anaesthesia across a broad range of surgical specialties.
• Participate in the 1:10 Intensive Care on-call rota.
• Contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical governance, audit, research and quality improvement.
