Job summary

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust in Brighton seeks a substantive Consultant Cellular Pathologist to join the Royal Sussex County Hospital. You will work within Gynecological and Gastrointestinal pathology teams to deliver high-quality, timely diagnostics.

The role includes leadership, teaching, research, and regional collaboration within Sussex, with training active BSMS supervision and multi-professional governance. Full-time, 10 sessions per week, on-call nil.

Qualifications

• FRCPath Part 2 or equivalent qualification required.
• GMC registration or eligible within six months of interview.
• Higher Degree essential.

Responsibilities

• Independent reporting of diagnostic cellular pathology with focus on Gynecological and GI pathology.
• Participation in MDT meetings and timely clinicopathological advice.
• Clinical supervision of trainees and contribution to education.
• Participation in governance, audit, and quality improvement.
• Adherence to NHS Trust policies on information governance, health and safety, safeguarding and equality.
