Job summary

Consultant Histopathologist sought in East Sussex to join an NHS Cellular Pathology department serving Hastings and Eastbourne, with a focus on gynaecological histology. The role offers a specialist focus and the opportunity to Lead Histopathologist for Cervical Screening Histology.

You will contribute to cancer MDTs, a double-reporting system for cancer cases, and cross-site collaboration within a UKAS-accredited department.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register.
• Experience or special interest in gynaecological histology.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality consultant-level histopathology services.
• Develop and contribute to the department's gynaecological histology service.
• Undertake the role of Lead Histopathologist for Cervical Screening Histology.
• Participate in cancer MDTs and multidisciplinary working.
• Contribute to the established double-reporting system for cancer cases.
• Support the delivery and ongoing development of the Cellular Pathology service.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the two acute hospital sites.
