Job summary

Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting a Consultant Cellular Pathologist to join our expanding Cellular Pathology service at Queen's Hospital, Romford. The role emphasizes GI and Gynaecological pathology reporting, MDT participation and clinical governance.

You will contribute to the development of digital pathology and molecular diagnostics while supporting teaching, audit and service improvement across a diverse patient population in the London region.

Qualifications

• Full GMC specialist registration (licence to practise)
• MBBS or MBBCh and FRCPath or equivalents
• Evidence of consultant-level reporting in GI and Gynaecological pathology
• Background in general histopathology
• Teaching, audit and research experience
• Management and leadership experience

Responsibilities

• Report specimens in GI, Gynaecological pathology, bowel cancer screening and cervical screening histology and non-gynae cytology
• Participate in MDTs and clinico-pathologic meetings, mainly as deputy leads
• Contribute to clinical governance, audit, quality assurance and service development
• Support expansion of digital pathology and molecular pathology services
• Engage in teaching and training activities within the department
