Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Mammographer to deliver high-quality breast imaging services, including screening and symptomatic clinics, within a dedicated team. The role emphasizes patient care, adherence to NHSBSP guidelines, and ongoing professional development.

The Post Holder will work with radiologists, radiographers and other colleagues to maintain clinical excellence and contribute to quality assurance initiatives across the Breast Imaging department.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in radiography and HCPC registration are required.
• Postgraduate qualification or certification in mammography is expected.
• CPD evidence demonstrates ongoing professional development.
• Certificate of competency in IV injections is required for contrast administration.
• Membership of the Society of Radiographers is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality mammographic services for screening, symptomatic clinics, and surveillance.
• Ensure adherence to NHSBSP quality assurance guidelines and monitor equipment.
• Prepare and test mammography equipment, interview patients, and guide them through the imaging process.
• Collaborate with radiologists, radiographers, and other staff to maintain service standards.
• Contribute to service improvement initiatives and data collection for QA/QC.
