Job Overview: The department of Anaesthetics is currently looking for 5 Consultant Anaesthetists to join the team.
A total of 77 Consultant Anaesthetists, including 7 Locum Consultants, currently work for the Trust. The department also employs 2 Associate Specialists, 2 Specialist Grade Anaesthetists, 1 Specialty Doctor, and about 30 trainees based in Anaesthesia ranging from CT1-ST7. Additionally, there are 8 Senior Clinical Fellows in the anaesthetic department. Trainees from acute medicine, respiratory medicine, and emergency medicine also rotate through training in Intensive care, and we train both FY1 and FY2 Doctors from our Local Foundation School.
There are 10 Anaesthesia Associates working in the department, with secretarial and administrative support provided by 5 secretaries in anaesthesia and two based in critical care.
Each of the 5 Consultant General Anaesthetic posts has varied sub-speciality interests such as Vascular, Neurosurgery, UGI, Gynaeoncology, Trauma/Orthopaedics, and Pre-assessment.
