We are delighted to seek applications for the post of Consultant Anaesthetist to join our team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust.

Our Consultants have strong interests in medical education and service improvement, including enhanced recovery and pain management. They also enhance the department's profile through engagement in wider Trust activities and transformation work.

Sub-specialty interests could be accommodated across various specialties at our hospital, including paediatric anaesthesia, pain medicine, obstetric anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia, orthopaedic anaesthesia, and preoperative assessment.

Interviews will take place on Wednesday 6th August 2025.

Main duties of the job

You will contribute to the provision of anaesthetic services across the Trust as part of a team of 33 Consultants, 3 Specialists, 10 SAS doctors, and 24 trainees. Salisbury offers a range of surgical specialties, including regional Plastic Surgery and Burns service and a supra-regional Spinal Injuries service.

This is a 10 PA post (8.5 DCC and 1.5 SPA), with potential for additional programmed activities. The SPA proportion may increase with responsibilities after appointment. The successful candidate will participate in the general on-call rota, with a frequency of 1:16.
