Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a full-time consultant anaesthetist based at Glenfield Hospital. The role covers elective and emergency anaesthesia, pre-operative assessment, high-risk clinics, and supervision of junior doctors.

Involves on-call duties and perioperative medicine support. The post requires FRCA or equivalent, GMC registration, and extensive thoracic surgery experience.

Qualifications

• FRCA or equivalent; Current BLS certification; Fully accredited for Higher Specialist Training, or eligible for the Specialist Register within 6 months of interview, or working towards CESR.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe anaesthetic service for elective and emergency care, including pre-operative assessment and perioperative care.
• Share day-to-day responsibility with colleagues and maintain high clinical standards.
• Provide specialist high-risk anaesthesia outpatient clinics.
