Job summary

Aspire People is seeking an experienced Construction Teacher to join an Alternative Provision in Solihull, supporting students aged 11-16 with SEMH needs. You will deliver practical, hands-on lessons in construction trades and help learners build confidence and employability.

Working with support staff, you’ll create a positive learning environment, promote safety, and guide students toward meaningful qualifications and future careers in the construction industry.

Qualifications

• QTS or relevant construction qualifications with teaching or training experience
• Industry experience across one or more construction trades
• Experience supporting young people with SEMH or additional needs
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Ability to motivate disengaged learners through practical learning
• A flexible, resilient approach and commitment to safeguarding

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging vocational lessons across construction disciplines using hands-on activities
• Collaborate with support staff and pastoral teams to create a positive learning environment
• Promote safe working practices and student welfare
