Job summary

Nova Training in Oldbury is seeking a Construction Tutor to deliver Level 1 qualifications, with 37.5 hours per week (Monday–Friday). The role requires a Full Teaching Qualification (Cert Ed, C&G 7307) or willingness to work towards one, plus a Level 2 literacy/numeracy qualification.

You will plan and deliver learner-focused sessions in Construction (Building & Carpentry) and monitor learner progress, ensuring high-quality vocational outcomes and attainment of funding body requirements.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with appropriate certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver learner-focused lessons.

Responsibilities

• Plan individual learning to meet learner needs and prepare lesson resources.
• Create training centre conditions to develop learner abilities and confidence.
• Monitor and assess learners to meet funding requirements and progress targets.
• Involve learners in decision-making through forums and activities.
• Support progression opportunities and maintain attendance records.
• Undertake other duties as required by the line manager.
