Job summary

TeacherActive is working with an Alternative Provision in Nottingham City to recruit a Construction Tutor on a full-time, permanent basis with an immediate start. You will deliver practical sessions covering basic construction skills and site materials, while supporting learners with behavioural needs and helping them re-engage with education.

The successful candidate will have a teaching qualification (desirable) and experience in construction or a related trade.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification desirable but not essential.
• Experience within construction or a relevant trade desirable.
• Experience working within an Alternative Provision / AP desirable.
• Good understanding of basic construction site materials and practical skills.
• Confidence delivering engaging practical sessions to young people.
• Patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting challenging behaviour.

The provision is looking to appoint a Construction Tutor on a full-time, permanent basis with an Immediate Start. The successful Construction Tutor will deliver practical sessions covering basic construction skills and site materials, while managing behavioural classes and helping learners develop confidence, engagement and employability skills.

The successful Construction Tutor will have:

• A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential
• Previous experience within construction or a relevant trade is desirable
• Previous experience working within an Alternative Provision / AP is desirable
• A good understanding of basic construction site materials and practical skills
• Confidence delivering engaging practical sessions to young people
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting challenging behaviour
