Job summary

VolkerLaser is recruiting for a full-time Highways Maintenance apprentice. You will join an active project team and learn through paid on-the-job training, with a nationally recognised Level 2 apprenticeship in Highways Maintenance partnered with the CITB Construction College.

You’ll work outdoors, gain practical site experience, and complete mandatory training blocks while developing hands-on skills across our UK sites.

Qualifications

• Interest in construction or working outdoors.
• Positive attitude with good timekeeping and safety focus.
• Commitment to attending and completing CITB training.
• Willingness to obtain CSCS card if not held already.
• Willingness to work and stay away from home regularly.
• Ability to travel to depot/site locations; role may be on any VolkerLaser site across the UK. All travel and hotel costs paid.

Responsibilities

• Support project activities alongside experienced operatives.
• Learn to perform tasks safely and to required standards.
• Use tools, plant and equipment safely with training.
• Attend CITB blocks and apply learning on site.
• Follow health, safety, wellbeing and environmental procedures.
• Keep work areas tidy and safe.
• Report hazards and near misses.
