Job summary

VolkerHighways invites applicants to join a full-time Highways Maintenance Apprenticeship – Level 2 in Luton. You’ll learn on the job while studying for a nationally recognised Level 2 apprenticeship in Highways Maintenance, with college blocks and overnight accommodation provided.

No prior construction experience is required. The programme includes paid training time, on-site mentoring and progression opportunities within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Interest in construction and working outdoors.
• Willingness to obtain a CSCS card if not already held.
• Strong focus on safety and responsible conduct.

Responsibilities

• Support project operations with tasks like kerb laying, footway works and drainage repairs.
• Learn to carry out on-site tasks safely and to required standards.
• Use tools and equipment safely with training and authorisation.
• Attend training blocks and apply learning on site.
• Follow health, safety, wellbeing and environmental procedures.
• Keep work areas tidy and safe.
• Report hazards, near misses or unsafe conditions.
• Represent VolkerHighways professionally on site.
