Job summary

Middlesbrough College is seeking a Construction Technician to support practical teaching in the Construction department. You will maintain workshops, manage stock and resources, prepare classes, and ensure a safe learning environment for students.

Working 37 hours per week with 30 days annual leave, you will contribute to a hands-on learning culture in a large college setting and support multiple workshops in Electrical and Plumbing.

Qualifications

• Maths and English at Grade C or above (or equivalent).
• Commitment to ongoing professional updating.
• Willingness to undertake mandatory role training.
• Trade qualification (relevant) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Stock control of consumables including kit allocations and deliveries.
• Ensure equipment and machines are safe and report defects.
• Prepare workshops in advance of classes.
• Carry out general maintenance in line with Health & Safety procedures.
• Assist Curriculum Lecturers during classes.
