Job summary

onlyFE is seeking an instructor to deliver practical lessons across construction levels 1–3, both inside and outside the centre. You will manage student behaviour and maintain a safe, supportive learning environment while coordinating stock of tools and equipment.

You will liaise with internal teams and external partners to support course delivery and learner progression, ensuring compliance with college policies and health & safety standards throughout.

Qualifications

• Experience in vocational education or similar setting.
• Experience of stock control.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong organisational skills; ability to work independently or in a team.
• Good IT skills.
• Willing to undertake professional development.
• Level 2 construction-related qualification.
• Level 2 Maths and English (or willingness to attain).
• Level 3 teaching qualification (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide support with practical activity and instruction to groups of level 1, 2 and 3 students and apprentices for both inside and outside areas within construction.
• Work with lecturers to assist with the set-up and delivery of practical sessions for both inside and outside construction areas.
• Assist lecturing staff with booking in/out of resources and equipment for practical activities for both inside and outside construction areas.
• Organise effective stock control and ordering as required.
• Maintenance and security of all workshop areas including all tools and equipment.
• Maintain and ensure compliance with health & safety standards within the area.
• Assist with various College events such as enrolment, open days and information evenings.

Qualifications & Training

• Level 2 qualification in a Construction related area, with a developed knowledge of all the trades
• Level 2 qualifications (GCSE A* – C, or equivalent) in Maths and English or a willingness to attain these qualifications with the support of the College
• Level 3 teaching qualification e.g. PTLLs or a firm commitment to achieve an Award in Education and Training (Desirable)
