Job summary

CJS Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Multi-Skills Lecturer for a full-time role within the construction and vocational education team in the UK. You will deliver practical and theoretical training across multiple construction disciplines, helping learners gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to progress to employment or further education.

The successful candidate will have strong construction experience, excellent communication skills and a professional approach to teaching.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Construction qualification is required.
• Experience delivering training, teaching or tutoring.
• Strong practical knowledge of construction methods and techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with learners of different abilities and backgrounds.
• Professional and positive approach to teaching and learner development.
• Relevant vocational qualifications such as NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging practical and classroom-based lessons across multiple construction disciplines.
• Plan and prepare lessons, demonstrations, practical assessments and learning activities.
• Support learners in developing practical construction skills and industry knowledge.
• Assess learner performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain a safe, professional and well-organised workshop and learning environment.
• Ensure teaching and assessment meet relevant awarding-body and college requirements.
• Keep accurate records of learner progress, attendance and assessments.
• Support learners with their development, employability and progression into the construction industry.
• Keep your industry knowledge and technical skills up to date.

The Role

We are currently looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Multi-Skills Lecturer to join our client's construction and vocational education team on a full-time basis.

The successful Multi-Skills Lecturer will have strong practical construction experience and a passion for supporting and developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality practical and theoretical training across a range of construction disciplines, helping learners develop the knowledge, practical skills and confidence required to progress into employment or further education.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging practical and classroom-based lessons across multiple construction disciplines.

• Plan and prepare lessons, demonstrations, practical assessments and learning activities.

• Support learners in developing practical construction skills and industry knowledge.

• Assess learner performance and provide constructive feedback.

• Maintain a safe, professional and well-organised workshop and learning environment.

• Ensure teaching and assessment meet relevant awarding-body and college requirements.

Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:

The successful candidate should have:

• Level 3 Construction qualification.

• Experience delivering training, teaching or tutoring.

• Strong practical knowledge of construction methods and techniques.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• The ability to work with learners of different abilities and backgrounds.

• A professional and positive approach to teaching and learner development.

• A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, CertEd or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET) would be advantageous.

• Relevant vocational qualifications such as NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent.
