Wates is offering a Site Management (Production) Trainee opportunity in the UK, designed to develop hands-on skills in planning, coordination and delivery of construction projects. You will work on site with experienced managers and teams, learning health and safety, quality management, stakeholder coordination and cost control while progressing through placements and qualifications.

Qualifications

• By September 2027, you must have obtained a bachelor's degree with a predicted or achieved classification of 2:2 or above.
• Some opportunities require a UK driving license and a degree related to this role.
• Travel and mobility are essential parts of the role.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day management and coordination of on-site construction activities.
• Promote health, safety, wellbeing and environmental sustainability.
• Work with subcontractors and supply chain partners to meet project requirements.
• Develop relationships with clients, designers, consultants and project teams.
• Assist with planning and monitoring project programmes to keep on schedule and within budget.
• Support quality inspections and site checks to meet specifications.
• Gain understanding of construction methods and sequencing across project stages.
• Collaborate with commercial teams and surveyors to understand project costs.
• Contribute to site meetings, progress reporting and coordination.
• Develop knowledge of digital construction tools and technologies.
• Build leadership and communication skills to manage teams on site.
• Complete technical manuals, workshops and relevant qualifications.
